2025-2028 Neighborhood Drainage and Sewer System Repair Contract

Project Goal:

The Department of Public Works is excited to utilize this contract to complete a list of long-standing drainage and sewer system repair/improvement needs in various locations around the City.

Project Scope:

The contract includes the installation of sewer and drain manholes, catch basins, storm drain and sewer pipe, general earthwork, riprap slope stabilization, pipe point repair, tree removal, roadway/curb/sidewalk restoration, and maintenance of traffic. The contractor completing the work is Gorham Sand & Gravel (GSG). Base Bid Projects include:

  • Three (3) Sanitary Sewer Projects
    • SS-01 Frost St Terminus Manhole
    • SS-02 Kenilworth St Terminus Manhole
    • SS-03 Sherwood St Sewer Replacement
  • Eight (8) Stormwater Projects
    • SW-01 Beaumont St Inlet Improvements - Completed (except for final surface restoration)
    • SW-02 Curtis Rd Underdrain
    • SW-03 Vaill St Point Repair (on hold while the City finalizes permitting)
    • SW-04 Concord St West Underdrain
    • SW-05 Ballpark Dr Outfall Repair - Completed (except for final surface restoration)
    • SW-06 Ludlow St Swale Improvements - Completed (except for final surface restoration)
    • SW-07 Westlawn Rd Inlet Improvements
    • SW-08 Washington Ave Drain Manhole

It is the City’s intent to add similarly scoped projects to this contract for a period of up to 3 years from the initial contract execution date.

  • Additional Project Scopes
    • 236 Ludlow St Sewer Cross-Connection Correction - Completed (except for final surface restoration)

Schedule:

  • Updates will be provided as the contractor begins planning to mobilize to the next site.
  • The contractor may pause work at a particular project site and remobilize when conditions are suitable to complete the work.
  • The base bid projects listed above are expected to be completed by the end of 2026.
  • Construction Hours: Monday - Friday, 7:00am - 7:00pm.

Traffic Impacts:

  • Pedestrian and traffic impacts may include sidewalk closures on one side of the street, lane shifts, and/or one-way traffic during work hours.
  • To avoid traffic delays, the City is asking motorists to avoid the work zones altogether by considering different routes during the projects.
