The City of Tampa is developing a 10.2-acre East Tampa Recreation Complex by combining the Fair Oaks Community Center, Herbert D. Carrington Sr. Community Lake, and nearby properties. This project, led by Skanska USA and a diverse Design-Build Team, aims to enhance recreational opportunities for all ages, with new facilities and services including a full-size gym and dedicated spaces for older adults, slated for completion by 2026.

The City of Tampa is launching the Hanna Avenue Mobility Improvements project to enhance roadway safety and mobility in East Tampa. Proposed upgrades include roadway resurfacing, intersection improvements, new traffic signals, and sidewalk installations along key streets, improving access for vehicles and pedestrians alike.
