The City of Muskegon has received a request from a private company to install a cell tower at Marsh Field (1800 Peck St).

The project includes resurfacing the entire length of Western Avenue from 8th Street to Terrace Street.

The city will be rehabilitating Lakeshore Drive from Beach Street (the roundabout) to Sherin Street (Frosty Cove). Learn more about the project here!

Parkland Properties is in the final stages of getting approvals for Phase 1 of the project. This first phase will feature single-family, owner-occupied homes along the waterfront.

Updates to the City of Muskegon’s Master Land Use Plan are fairly regular, but the last major rewrite of the Plan occurred in 1997. With an effort beginning in 2019, the City of Muskegon Planning Department has been working on a comprehensive rewrite of the Master Plan.

Short Term Rental units have increased in our growing city. Commissioners and staff are continually gathering resident and business owner's feedback on this hot topic. Continue to use this online feedback form to make your voice heard.

The results show that there is a serious shortage of both for-sale and rental housing units at all price points across our city, and so we will be taking a tour hosting public engagement sessions to inform residents of the study results.
