Egham Hythe Local Street Improvements: Have your say
We are developing proposals for Egham Hythe to make the streets safer, healthier and more attractive with improved facilities for walking, wheeling and cycling.
Thank you to everyone who took part during the public engagement periods. We are currently undertaking a final review of the proposals, developing the designs in more detail and seeking opportunities to secure funding deliver the project.
About the project
Local Street Improvements are schemes intended to make streets within residential communities more appealing for people to spend time in and to make short journeys by walking, wheeling and cycling.
As part of Surrey's Local Street Improvements programme, a scheme in Egham Hythe is being developed with design funding from the Department for Transport.
We have completed three rounds of public engagement with the local community, with the most recent stage being completed during winter 2025/26. This third stage of engagement has provided us with feedback on our latest proposals, which were shaped by the ideas and comments we received during the earlier two stages of engagement.
The proposals, split into six areas, can still be viewed on this site, however, the engagement period has closed. We are now undertaking a final review of the proposals, making changes and developing the designs in more detail.
We will also be seeking opportunities to secure funding deliver the scheme, or parts of it. It may be necessary to prioritise certain elements of the proposals in a bid for construction funding, depending on the anticipated amount of funding available.
