Infrastructure Improvement Projects

The City of Dunedin is actively working to restore and rebuild the Dunedin Marina after the significant damage caused by Hurricanes Helene and Milton. Most recently, the City Commission unanimously approved action items directing staff to move forward with the restoration efforts. This project's goal is to achieve a stable shoreline that is more resilient and increases habitat. This is a benefit to the community as the project increases safety at Weaver Park along the shoreline, improves our natural ecology, provides education and engagement, and enhances the aesthetic beauty of the park.

The Curlew Creek, Jerry Branch, and Cedar Creek waterways stretch across approximately 6.5 miles of densely wooded terrain within the City of Dunedin's municipal boundaries. These vital drainage corridors serve multiple watersheds, helping to manage stormwater and prevent local flooding. As natural conveyance channels, they direct water safely through the landscape, ultimately discharging into various points along the Intracoastal Waterway that defines Dunedin’s scenic shoreline.

The City of Dunedin is proposing a key infrastructure initiative that supports the vitality and accessibility of Downtown Dunedin: the construction of the Midtown Garage, located at the intersection of Douglas Avenue and Scotland Street. The City of Dunedin is updating its Multimodal Transportation Plan (MMTP) Update to include the 2011 Bicycle / Pedestrian Master Plan map.

The City of Dunedin is reconstructing the island median along Patricia Ave, south of Main St to enhance the Patricia corridor.

The Stormwater Rate Study ensures that current revenues from the stormwater rates are adequate to financially support the current and future stormwater programs.

The City will replace the failed street underdrain on Country Lane. This will address standing water in the street and provide storm drainage yard connections to several properties.

The City is replacing 6 force main connections to wastewater lift stations that are over 60 years old.
